Last year, the trade fair was attended by a good number of Italian manufacturers, and this year’s edition will be marked by the participation of 26 machinery producers. Of these, ACIMIT associated members include A.Piovan, Bonino, Caipo, Cognetex, Comez, Corino, Cormatex, Cps Tex, Fadis, Ferraro, Fk Group, Guarnieri Technology, Itema, Laip, Lgl, Pentek, Ramina, Reggiani Macchine, Santex Group, Smit, Stalam, Tecnorama, Textape, and Unitech.
ACIMIT president Alex Zucchi said, “Thanks to its textile vocation. Iran has always represented an important market for Italy’s textile machinery industry. The global tensions of the past few years have slowed down trade and commerce, but the ongoing relaxation process is opening up very interesting business prospects for our companies.”
The validation of this new phase can be found in the statistics of Italian sales in Iran. For the first three months of 2017, Italian exports to this specific market amounted to €12 million, whereas during the same period in 2016 sales had reached only slightly under €2 million. It shouldn’t be difficult, therefore, for Italian exports to outperform 2016, for which total sales amounted to €16 million.
